I Am Leaving and I Am Sad
As you all know, I am leaving so you guys can carry on without me. I expect some good discussions!! I think I'm going to make this an Eclipse discussion place too, because ya'll are going to forget about dear ol' Harry once Edward steps into the ring.
Sophia's Feelings
I am flabbergasted(oh yeah, good vocabulary) by how awesome that book was!! I have to admit, Jo didn't really close it up as well as I would have liked, but Whatev. I guess the thoughts of Harry as forever a Boy Wizard have been tossed out the window. I don't know where to begin on talking about it so I'll do what Jelly did.
Good things that made me smile(NOTE: make me smile, it matters):
1) "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!"
2) Hoping the Ford Anglia was going to run over Voldy in the Forest.
3) Ron calling Malfoy a two-faced bastard.
4) Dumbledore's back story made him seem human. Very nice.
5) Kreacher is my dogg. He can make a mean onion soup and treacle tart.
6) The statue in Godric's Hollow made me cry.
7) I shivered when Mr. Lovegood talked about the Hallows.
8) I laughed when Dobby died. Funny how his odds of kicking the bucket were 100/1.
9) I like Aberforth more than Albus.
10) Battle of Hogwarts. Enough said.
11) Lily and Snape!!! BFF!!
12) Harry totally pwned Voldy. I wish I could have seen it. *sigh*
13) I liked Krum. He was always a good character to me.
14) Neville is awesome. He is a true Gryffindor.
Things that made me frown and shake my head:
1) Dudley dressed up like he was in Grease. ( I laughed thinking about it though)
2) George getting his ear cut off.
3) Poor Fred
4) and Remus, Tonks, Colin, Mad-Eye, and Snape. Everyone else didn't matter.
5) Remus vs. Harry at Grimmaulds Place. Make it stop!!
6) Umbridge the Nazi
7) Not enough Godric's Hollow
8) I want to shot Mr. Lovegood... in the foot. Because it would hurt.
9) Wormtail was a little extreme on repaying his life debt. I'm mean killing yourself? Geez.
10) I wanted to go over to Griphook, take Gryffindor's sword, and shove it up his--
11) Was it Crabbe or Goyle that died? Oh well.
12) Voldemort can fly on a cloud? Thats... different.
13) Grindalwald and Dumbledore Bff? Didn't see that coming.
14) Kings Cross chappy sucked.
15) The epilogue made me think of a poor excuse of a fan fiction. Albus Severus Potter? I would rather kill myself.
I know I haven't even skimmed the top of the pile, so I'm not even going to try. All in all, it was a great book. I am planning on taking it to camp with me. I hope I don't drop it in the water. I would then have to drown myself. I will always remember the hype, thanks to you all. 7-20-07 and 7-21-07 were hands-down the best days of my life by a mile.
Anyone who thinks Harry Potter is stupid is going to wish they were never born.

Jelly's Feelings
Okay, so I came away with this really heavy feeling. It was like I had a copy Deathly Hallows pressing on my lungs. Everyone keeps saying how great they thought it was. I don't know. I mean, once it sunk it, I liked the book better. But it was just so different. The whole Harry walking to his death scene at the end...omg. I was freaking hyperventilating. I was crying and freaking out at 2 am.
Almost everyone on Mugglenet and stuff said that they hated the epilogue. To me, the epilogue felt like fanfiction. I think that everyone just wanted it to be more detailed.
Here are some things that I wish Jo would/n't have done and things that didn't get answered:
1) Neville should have killed Bellatrix, not Mrs. Weasly.
2) I didn't like what we learned about Dumbledore though a lot of people did. This really isn't my call. I'm not saying that Jo shouldn't have done it, I just didn't like it. I mean, DD wanting to rule over muggles?
3) Who was the one that discovered magic later in life?
4) No Ginny/Harry kissing after the battle.
5) I actually didn't like seeing Harry as an adult in the epilogue. I wanted to leave with a feeling of him as still a teenager. (I thought I was the only one, but someone on Mugglenet said this exact same thing.)
6) Ron was annoying with the whole trying to protect Hermione thing. I mean, it wasn't bad writting, but I'm a feminist. I thought that it was good that at the end there, Hermione was all "I'm just as capable-"
7) Ginny just hovered in the background for most of it.
8) Neville looked really weird in that chapter art. He looked like Moody.
9) Death all over the place!!!! But we knew that was coming.
10) Snape didn't die a noble death. He just got mauled by a snake and bled to death. I wanted him to be all like, "Don't touch Harry. I'm good. Dumbledore rocks. etc." to Voldy in the final battle.
11) Not enough closure on the Dursleys
12) Wormtail didn't help enough. He just choked himself. I mean...question mark?
I'll be more positive once I've reread it. What I did like:
1) Harry's defeat of Voldy, obviously.
2) Remus and Tonk's baby, and Harry being his godfather.
3) Draco converting...kinda
4) Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny
5) The whole, Harry "dying" and casting the protection of love on everyone.
6) Hermione...she rocked in this book.
7) Snape/Lily...bff's! Didn't see that coming. I thoroughly enjoyed it though. I wish we would have seen more James.
8) Minerva M.
First Reactions
Okay. I want to know everyone's first reactions after reading the book. Shock? Relief? Hatred? A sense of cloture? Anything you want. Get creative.

Deathly Hallows Has Finally Come
7-21-07 has finally past and Book 7 is now in our hands. It is hard to believe that the wait is over. All that theorizing, speculation, and eagerness has ended. Now all we have to do is read it.
Happy reading guys. We will start discussing it soon.
